Park Slope Stoop Will Turn To Stage For Summer Concert Series
The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music will host a concert series from their Seventh Avenue stoop, starting this week.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music will transform their stoop into a stage for a series of concerts starting this week.
The "Midsummer Nights: Stoop Concerts" series will kick off on Thursday with a jazz trio performance at the Seventh Avenue stoop, the organization recently announced. Performances are scheduled each Thursday through Aug. 12.
"All in the community are invited to come and enjoy these free outdoor events, each featuring one or more of BKCM’s stellar musicians," the organization wrote in a release.

The series is the latest event in the conservatory's effort to provide paid performance opportunities for local professional musicians. Since the pandemic, BKCM has helped create more than 350 paid gigs for area musicians, according to the organization.
"...We are proud to continue supporting these vital members of our artistic community," they wrote.

Tahira Clayton’s Jazz Trio
"Award-winning jazz vocalist and BKCM faculty member Tahira Clayton and her trio will take the stage for the first Midsummer Nights concert of the season. Clayton, who recently led BKCM’s Brooklyn Pride Movie Tunes Singalong, will bring her incomparable vocals and original music to our stoop for an evening that is not to be missed."

Klezmer Music with Zoe Aqua, Dan Blacksberg and Ira Temple
"Violinist and BKCM Klezmer Director Zoe Aqua will be joined by trombonist Dan Blacksberg and keyboardist/accordionist Ira Temple for an evening of vibrant klezmer music. Aqua and Temple recently got the neighborhood moving at BKCM’s Spring Benefit in May, and Temple co-led a performance at our 5th Annual World Refugee Day Music Festival in June."

Kirk Driscoll Trio
"Renowned drummer and BKCM faculty member Kirk Driscoll will bring his trio – featuring pianist Steve Sandberg and bassist Micheal O’Brien – to the stoop for an evening that is sure to have people dancing in the streets."
