PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — More than 70 percent of all Park Slopers have now gotten at least their first shot of the coronavirus vaccine as mandates prompt a boost across the city, data shows.

Both ZIP codes that cover Park Slope recently ticked above the 70-percent mark for residents of all ages, with the neighborhood's major ZIP code 11215 reaching a 71.7 partial vaccination rate as of Tuesday, according to city data.

The milestone is the latest for the neighborhood, which has continued to hold one of the highest vaccination rates in the borough. Brooklyn as a whole had a 63 percent partial vaccination rate as of Tuesday, data shows.

In Park Slope, the vaccination rate has been inching up consistently for several months, jumping around 9 percentage points between the start of June and October in 11215.

The vaccination surge has been even larger in parts of Brooklyn with larger gaps to close, including areas like Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights and Brownsville, where the vaccination rate has spiked 20 percentage points since June in one ZIP code.

Officials have said they expect vaccine rates to continue to rise as the mandates take hold. Both the healthcare and school staff requirements went into effect last week.
