Park Slope's 'Doggy Fashion Show' Returns
Everything you need to know about this year's festivities.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A "doggy costume parade" is returning to Fifth Avenue in southern Park Slope next month.
Freddy's Bar, near 17th Street, will host the fourth annual fashion show on July 15. The street will be closed so that a stage, red carpet and onsite animal adoption center can be set up.
Dogs will waltz down the runway in their costumes and can win some prizes. The event is also organized by the Park Slope Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District.

"This year we'll have an even higher stage to provide more space and superior pooch visibility plus a better sound system so no dog goes unheard," Freddy's owner Donald O'Finn said in a press release.

O'Finn also encouraged dog owners to not hold anything back.

"We encourage all contestants to work it, because you get only one entrance," he said. "There is no such thing as too extreme."
A portion of beer sales at Freddy's will be donated to The Sean Casey Animal Rescue.
The event marks the kick off of Park Slope Fifth Ave's "Summer Strolls" program. Fifth Avenue will be closed from 12th Street to 18th Street that night.
Aside from the dog fashion show, the festivities will include street vendors, a vintage car show, giant street chess and more.
