Person Threatened To Shoot Up Park Slope School, NYPD Says
The threat, which came after a school massacre in Texas, mirrors horrifying messages received by other Park Slope schools earlier this year.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A person recently threatened to gun down dozens of Park Slope students, marking the latest in a spate of shooting threats aimed at city public schools following a massacre at a Texas elementary, police said.
Police were called to Millennium Brooklyn High School Friday about 7:15 a.m. to investigate the disturbing threat, an NYPD spokesperson said.
"I’m going to shoot up my school Millennium Brooklyn High School New York with a MP15 assault rifle and a Glock 17 pistol with hundreds of rounds of ammunition in a few weeks and Livestream it on my Instagram," the threat, posted on Omegle and reported by The New York Post, reads.

The poster — who remains unidentified as of Monday, according to the NYPD — also threatened to blast music during the shooting and kill dozens of people, listing the names of some Park Slope students, according to The Post.
An employee from Park Slope Collegiate, which shares a building with the high school on Seventh Avenue and Fourth Street, reportedly informed parents of the threat in an email.

"The post appears copy and pasted from social media threats that have been made in previous months to schools throughout our area, but it does include the school name and the names of some students. We are taking the threat seriously," reads the message, reported by The Post.
Indeed, the threat to Millennium Brooklyn High School mirrors horrifying messages received by other Park Slope schools earlier this year.
In February, the FBI investigated a threat to Berkeley Carroll, in which a person posing as a student said they would gun down dozens of students in a livestreamed attack on campus, Patch reported.
A couple days later, Brooklyn Friends School's Instagram account received a similar message from someone threatening to "shoot up the school."
That series of threats prompted police to launch an investigation into what may be a malicious bot, Patch reported at the time.
Police could not confirm if the most recent threat to Millennium Brooklyn High School was also suspected of being from a bot, but said that law enforcement officials are seriously investigating the incident.
"When things like this occur the command takes appropriate steps, especially in light of everything that’s happened recently," an NYPD spokesperson told Patch, alluding to the latest mass school shooting in Uvalde, Texas where a gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School killing 19 students and two teachers.
Since the Texas massacre, a spate of local school shooting threats have disrupted schools across New York, including in the city.
