Police Blotter: Crook Steals $320 from YMCA Locker

A thief stole a man's wallet from a locker in the YMCA.

The following information was supplied by the 78th Precinct of the NYPD. It does not indicate a conviction.

Locker Room Thief  

A thief broken into a locker at a Ninth Street gym and stole an iPhone, $320 cash, and three credit cards May 4.  

The 40-year-old victim told police that he went to work out at the YMCA, between Fifth and Sixth avenues, at 4:15 p.m. He put his wallet inside his locker and went to get  workout. When he returned to his locker at 5:55 p.m., his belongings were gone. The thief got away with his iPhone 5, $320 cash, his Coach wallet and three credit cards. 

Pickpocket and Credit Card Charge  

A quick-handed crook pickpocketed a woman on the F train for her debit card and then used her account to make deposits and withdrawals on Feb. 13.  

The 25-year-old victim told police that she was riding the F train at 9:45 a.m. when a black man, described as standing 5-foot-4, weighing about 100 lbs., with black short hair, stole her debit card out of her pocket. Later on, the crook deposited $9,600 in checks and withdrew $1,200.
