Police Blotter: Thief Steals ATM Card and Charges $500

ATM Card Swiped

A thief stole a Nevins Street resident’s debit card and withdrew $500 at an ATM on March 17.

The 38-year-old victim told police that she realized someone had stolen her debit card at around 8:15 a.m. while in her apartment between Baltic and Wyckoff streets. She then found out that the crook withdrew $500 from her account shortly after.

A crook hacked into a Berkeley Place resident’s Verizon Wireless account and opened two new cell phone accounts from March 4 through March 25.

The 27-year-old victim told police that he received a bill for $266 at his apartment, between Seventh and Eighth avenues on March 25. After the victim called Verizon, they told him that someone had opened the two cell phone lines at an Apple store on Prince Street in Manhattan.
