Police Blotter: Thief Steals Camera from Photographer at Barclays Center

A quick-handed crook stole a man’s camera from a suite in Barclays Center sometime between March 3 and 4.

The 30-year-old photographer told police that he was at Barclays Center watching Swedish House Mafia from a private suite when he placed his Canon camera and lens on a chair in the back of the room and walked to the front of the room to watch the concert at around 11 p.m. When he went to grab his camera an hour later at around 12:01 a.m., it was gone. The crook got away with the victim’s Canon T1i camera and a Canon 45mm lens, worth a total of $1,950.

Hotel Room Knife Slashing

Police arrested a 43-year-old woman for slashing her boyfriend’s hand with a knife in a Third Avenue hotel March 8.

The 51-year-old victim told police that after drinking alcohol with his girlfriend, they got into a heated argument in La Quinta Inn, between 13th and 14th streets. But at around 11:40 p.m., the girlfriend picked up a small knife and cut his right index and ring finger. Police arrived, recovered the knife next to the bed and arrested the woman for felony assault. The victim was treated by EMS for his injuries.
