Police Blotter: Two Crooks Mug a Man for his PlayStation on Fourth Avenue

Not a Play Station
Two crooks mugged a man for his PlayStation on Fourth Avenue on March 9, but were arrested soon after.

The 24-year-old victim told police that he was walking on Fourth Avenue when he reached the corner of Douglass Street when two Hispanic men, one 22 and the other 19, jumped him.
The 22-year-old man pushed the victim to the ground and snatched the PlayStation Vita and a game from him at around 12:05 p.m. Police collared the crooks at the Bedford Avenue Shelter, where they reside.

Shut the Front Door
A burglar walked right through a 12th Street apartment front door, stole a laptop and then locked the door on his way out on March 5.Â
The victim told police that she never locks both locks, but when she returned to her home between Sixth and Seventh avenues at 9 p.m., after a long day at work, she realized that both locks were locked. There were no signs of forced entry. When she took a look around she realized that her MacBook Pro laptop was gone and a cup of change.
Please, Shut the Front DoorÂ
A crook walked right through a 15th Street apartment front door and snatched $1,400 worth of electronics on March 9.Â
The victim told police that he left his apartment, between Third and Fourth avenues, at 8:30 a.m. and returned at around 7:15 p.m. when he realized that his Amazon Kindle Fire, Apple PowerBook laptop and a Canon SD400 camera were missing. Neighbors told police that they heard someone in the apartment between 8 and 11 a.m., but didn’t think anything of the noise.
Leather SnatchedÂ
A swift crook grabbed a woman’s leather jacket on Fourth Avenue on March 8, only to be arrested by police minutes later.
The victim, a 32-year-old woman, told police that she stopped to speak with the man, a 28-year-old who she never met before at the corner of Douglass Street, at around 6:30 a.m. when he snatched her leather jacket and ran. The woman saw two police officers and told them what happened. They collard the criminal, she gave a positive ID on the man and he was arrested. The $300 leather jacket was not found. Â Â
The Fast and the Furious
A fast crook snatched a man’s motorcycle from its parking spot on 11th Street between March 8 and 9.Â
The victim told police that he parked his white 1999 Suzuki Motor Bike between Fourth and Fifth avenues on March 8 at around 6 p.m. When he returned the next day at 10 a.m., the crotch rocket was nowhere to be found.
Cracking the Code
A crook was caught red handed while he was breaking into a truck on 12th Street and was arrested on March 9.
A witness saw a black man, 39-years-old, using tools to wedge open the passenger side front door of a truck near Hamilton Avenue. The owner arrived and the crook jumped out of the truck. The police collared the man and also found a small bag of crack on his person.
Smooth Criminal
A crook broke into a liquor store on Park Place without setting off the alarm and snatched nearly $2,000 sometime between March 8 and March 9.
An employee, who closed near Flatbush on March 8 for the night, told police that she locked all doors and set the alarm. When she arrived the next day she realized that $1,400 was missing from the register, but the alarm was not activated nor were any locks or doors broken.
What the F Train
Two swift pickpockets lifted a woman’s iPhone from her as she was leaving the Seventh Avenue G train subway station on March 6.
The victim told police that she boarded a southbound G train at Bergen Street around 4:45 p.m. and believes her earbuds were hanging out of her pocket. When she got off the train at Seventh Avenue at about 4:50 p.m. a crook bumped into her as she was going to head up the stairs. A second man ran past her and said, “He didn’t take anything.” Then she reached into her jacket pocket and realized that her iPhone in a pink and orange case was missing, she did not get a good look at the suspects.
U R Picked
A fast-handed crook snatched a woman’s purse from her stroller at a packaging store on March 5.
The victim told police that she turned her back to her stroller to pick up a package in , between 8th and 9th streets, around 1:15 p.m. Then 15 minutes later, she realized that her purse, which was inside a compartment in the stroller, was gone. The crook made off with $60, a Metro card and a debit card.
