Police Release Video, More Info. In South Slope Kidnapping Attempt

The video shows a man and woman trying to talk a girl into their car.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — The NYPD on Thursday morning released a video showing an attempted kidnapping that happened last week in the South Slope.

The video shows the man, out of his car, talking to the 15-year-old girl — who is blurred out — while a woman talks to the girl from the front seat.

The incident happened on 19th Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues Friday, Sept., 22, around 2:40 p.m., police said.

The girl managed to escape once the man tried to grab her. You can watch the video footage below:



Authorities also updated their description of the perpetrators' car. It is a gray BMW SUV, not a black Jeep Cherokee, as they said Wednesday. The car has New York plates.
