Ramen Restaurant Opens In Park Slope

Menya Ramen boasts a page-long ramen menu plus some "crispy and particularly delicious" appetizers at its newly-opened 5th Ave storefront.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Park Slope has a new spot for ramen.

On Sunday, Menya Ramen opened on 5th Avenue between 5th and 6th streets — a storefront that long-housed popular sushi restaurant, Mura, which moved across the street last year.

The new eatery is still in the midst of a "soft launch," so there are some promotions to entice first-time customers, like a free chicken or pork bun with a Yelp sign-in or 15 percent off in exchange for an Instagram follow.

A page-long ramen menu (with vegetarian and meat options) is the star of the show, in addition to appetizers like seaweed salad, eel-on-rice, and kaarage, or Japanese fried chicken, which one reviewer described as "crispy and particularly delicious."

Menya Ramen has gotten mostly positive online feedback so far, especially from guests who ate in-person and said that the wood-and-brick space was clean, and that staff were attentive.

One person who ordered on Seamless was upcharged by the app, and said they were disappointed with the size of the dishes, which were apparently cold at the time of delivery.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
