SEE: Park Slope Library's New 'Storytelling Garden' Opens
City Councilman Brad Lander and a host of other officials were on hand for the ceremony.
PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Park Slope kids have a new place to hang out and read outside. The Park Slope Library's new "Storytelling Garden" opened Saturday and includes a storytelling amphitheater, community garden, paths, planters and other improvements funded through the participatory budgeting process.
The garden will soon feature a statue of "Knuffle Bunny," a popular character from Brooklyn author Mo Willems, which will be funded by the Friends of Park Slope Library.
City Councilman Brad Lander, whose office funded the project through participatory budgeting, led the festivities, calling the garden "the most joyful new public space around." Lander also announced this year's participatory budgeting winners, which you can see here.
