The 45th annual event comes after the pandemic halted St. Patrick's day parades citywide (including in Park Slope) during the past couple of years.

This upcoming installment of the parade marks a return to normalcy, though, with all the beloved activities from years past, including live music, marching bands, Irish dancers, face painting, and more, organizers said.

The Brooklyn Irish American Parade Committee, which presides over the event, was formed in 1975 by a group of Irish Americans, including John Carroll, whose grandson, Robert Carroll, is now a local State Assembly member.

The event is widely considered to be Brooklyn's oldest St. Patrick's Day Parade.
