Stampede Of Running Children Headed Toward Prospect Park

For a race! Not like cattle.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A stampede of running children is headed toward Prospect Park this weekend.

About 800 kids, and nearly 5,000 grown-ups, will race Saturday to raise funds for New York Road Runners' youth programming, the organization announced Thursday.

Proceeds from the adults' race will go toward Rising New York Road Runners, a free youth fitness program that works with more than 100,000 students ages 2 to 18 in the city and nationwide.
