Straphanger Punched In Unprovoked Attack At Park Slope Subway Station
A 67-year-old man went to the hospital Monday after a stranger stood up from a subway bench and punched him in the head, police said.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A straphanger went to the hospital after a man punched him in the head during an unprovoked attack inside a Park Slope subway station Monday, police said.
The apparently random assault unfolded about 8:45 p.m. inside the Fourth Avenue and Union Street station, where a 67-year-old man waited for an R train, authorities said.
It's then that another man, who was sitting on a nearby bench, stood up and punched the straphanger in the head, NYPD officials said.

The attacker ran off, leaving the man with injuries to his face, police said. Medics drove the man to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in stable condition, authorities said.
Police said the attacker is a man about 5 feet 6 inches talls, roughly 170 pounds and a medium build. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, a black face mask, gray pants and black and white sneakers, they said.
