Sunset Park Victims Robbed at Gunpoint For $40K In Jewelry, Cash

The perpetrators took off in a black Dodge on 4th Avenue, police said.

BROOKLYN, NY — Two pedestrians were robbed at gunpoint early Monday morning in Sunset Park, New York Police Department officials said.

The pedestrians — a 26-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman — were walking on 4th Avenue near 33rd Street around 4:30 a.m. when they were approached by two masked perpetrators, NYPD officials said.

One of the perpetrators pointed a silver firearm at the victims, while the other demanded the victims' money and jewelry, according to officials.

Police said the total amount stolen, including the value of the jewelry, was $40,000.

The perpetrators fled the scene northbound on 4th Avenue in a black Dodge, and no shots were fired, officials said.

No arrests have been made yet, and the investigation is underway, NYPD officials said.
