"Support small businesses + help overcome food insecurity along the other 5th Ave."
The foodie crawl is organized by Tastes of Brooklyn, a group that is running similar neighborhood-focused smorgasbords Saturday in Bed-Stuy and May 30 in Gowanus.
The group threw its first "taste" in Park Slope last year, with 19 restaurants participating.
Organizers told Patch the lineup is still in early stages, but so far these are the participating restaurants:
- Athena Mediterranean Cuisine
- Bar Crudo
- Chela
- Bonnie's Grill
- Bonbon Lakay
- Logan's Run
- Stella's Caribbean
- Winemak'Her Bar
- Dram Shop
- Negril BK
- Harlem Shake
- SkyIce Thai Food & Ice Cream
- Taqueria El Patron Mexican Grill
But whatever eateries are participating, the format is simple: walk and sample.
"'Tastes' may be savory bites, cocktails, beers, happy hour style tapas + more," an announcement from Park Slope Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District states.
All of Tastes of Brooklyn's crawls, including the one in Park Slope, support Seeds in the Middle — a non-profit that fights food insecurity and encourages healthy food options in public schools.
