Thief Stole Cash, Broke Window At Park Slope Brunch Spot: NYPD
Someone broke into Miriam, a popular Park Slope brunch restaurant, in the middle of the night and stole cash from the register, police said.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Someone smashed a window and stole cash from a beloved Park Slope restaurant this week, police said.
The person broke the back window at Miriam, an Israeli brunch spot located on Fifth Avenue and Prospect Place, and ran off with $500 in cash from the register at about 12:50 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the NYPD.
No arrests have been made and an investigation into the robbery remains ongoing, an NYPD spokesperson said later that day.

The break-in comes a couple of months after Chela, another Fifth Avenue restaurant south of Miriam, was repeatedly robbed and vandalized during a burglary spike in Park Slope, leaving owners "demoralized," Patch reported.
Yesterday, another restaurant in Brooklyn was robbed by a twosome who forced their way into the eatery and ran off with a cash-filled-safe.

Reached for comment, an employee at Miriam would not say more about the burglary.
The restaurant, however, was up and running for its usual service as of Wednesday afternoon, with groups of people sitting inside, Patch saw.
Last month, Miriam expanded beyond its Park Slope flagship and opened it's first-ever Manhattan outpost on the Upper West Side.
