Weekend Rails

Here's your weekly dose of weekend subway service changes.

The subway will be plagued with construction, shuttle buses and subway changes, making travel from point A to point B that much harder. Make sure you get the scoop on the planned service changes before you leave the house on Saturday morning:

  • The and G train will skip Smith-9th St all times until Spring 2012.
  • Coney Island-bound F trains and Church Ave G trains will skip 15th St-Prospect Park and Fort Hamilton Parkway all times until Spring 2012. For service to these stations, take the F or G train to Church Ave and transfer to a Manhattan-bound F or a Queens-bound G. For service from these stations, take the F or the G train to 7th Ave and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F or a Church Ave-bound G.
  • Manhattan-bound A and C trains run via the F from Jay St-MetroTech to West 4th Street.
  • D trains run express in both directions between Atlantic Ave-Pacific St and 36th St. For service to Union St, 4th Ave-9th St, Prospect Ave and 25th St, take the N train.
  • No D trains between 34th St-Herald Sq and Atlantic Ave-Pacific St. Take the F, N, Q  or the free shuttle bus (at Grand St, West 4th St and Broadway-Lafayette St).
  • Coney Island-bound N trains are rerouted over the Manhattan Bridge from Canal St to DeKalb Ave. No Coney Island-bound N service at City Hall, Cortlandt, Rector, Whitehall, Court St and Jay St-MetroTech. Instead use the 4 train and get off at nearby stations.
  • N trains run local in both directions between DeKalb Ave and 59th St.
  • Bay Ridge-bound R trains are rerouted over the Manhattan Bridge from Canal St to DeKalb Ave. No Bay Ridge-bound R train service at City Hall, Cortlandt, Rector, Whitehall, Court St and Jay St-MetroTech.
