BROOKLYN, NY — A woman was killed after being struck by a subway train at Grand Army Plaza early Tuesday morning, police said.

The tragic collision occurred at the Grand Army Plaza subway station in Brooklyn at about 9:40 a.m., police said.

A 911 call to police first reported a woman on the tracks, according to officials.

Arriving first responders discovered a woman, 24, on the southbound 3 train tracks, unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to the head, an NYPD spokesperson said.

Medics declared the woman dead at the scene, officials told Patch.

Police said there was no criminality suspected and that the victim's name was being withheld pending family notification.
