8 Arrested at Sobriety Checkpoint
The checkpoint was conducted as part of ongoing Labor Day weekend enforcement operations. One man is also charged with resisting arrest.

Eight people were arrested during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Patchogue, Suffolk Police said.
The Highway Patrol Bureau, assisted by New York State troopers and MTA officers, conducted the checkpoint at the corner at the corner of Waverly Avenue and Sunrise Highway Service Road North from 11:10 p.m. Friday until 2:32 a.m. Saturday.

The checkpoint was conducted as part of ongoing Labor Day weekend holiday enforcement operations for the prevention of injuries and fatalities associated with driving while ability impaired by alcohol and drugs, police said. A total of 649 vehicles went through the checkpoint.
The following people were charged with DWI:

- Mohammad Rahman, 36, of Brentwood
- William Mulvey, 47, of Lindenhurst
- Michael Mira, 35, of Ronkonkoma
- [Redacted], 38, of Long Beach
- Angela Sirani, 34, of Holtsville
Sabrina Giannotti, 21, of Bohmeia was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol.
The following people were charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs:
- Robert Alder, 74, of West Hempstead
- Brian Aubin, 26, of Patchogue. He was additionally charged with resisting arrest.
