Acts Set For Great South Bay Music Festival On Long Island

Joe Bonamessa, Dark Star Orchestra, YES with Jon Anderson, the Moody Blues' Justin Hayward, and Jethro Tull's Martin Barre will perform.

PATCHOGUE, NY — This year's Great South Bay Music Festival will kick off with Joe Bonamessa, and feature artists like Dark Star Orchestra and Pepper, before YES with Jon Anderson and Justin Hayward of Moody Blues close, organizers said.

The four-day festival will run from Thursday, July 18 through Sunday, July 21.

Over 60 musicians will perform on four stages, covering genres from classic and contemporary rock to jam, blues, jazz, Americana, ska, reggae, alternative, and funk.

Kerry Kearny will kick off the festival, opening for three-time Grammy nominee Bonamassa with support from Poco, Loggins & Messina, and Buffalo Springfield legend, Jim Messina. Guitarist Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, who performed at Great South Bay when he was just 12 years old and has since shared the stage with Gregg Allman, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Gary Clarke Jr., Warren Haynes, and Lady Gaga will also perform.

Friday’s rock-reggae-ska party will continue with Hawaiian “Kona-Dub-Rockers” Pepper, as well as New Jersey’s own Streetlight Manifesto, Badfish, Ohio’s Tropidelic, and Oogee Wawa.

Saturday is Jam Day, continuing with the Grateful Dead Live Concert Experience of Dark Star Orchestra. The Disco Biscuits, Dogs In A Pile, Dopapod, and Karina Rykman will also perform.

In addition to YES and Hayward, Jethro Tull guitarist Martin Barre will also perform.

The fest will also include educational performers for children, multiple craft beer, wine, and adult beverage tents, an artisan and craft market, and a food court offering diverse fare.

Tickets are about $242 for general admission for the weekend.
