Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Pole, Fleeing: Police
The 27-year-old crashed his speeding SUV into a utility pole when an officer attempted to pull him over, police say.

BROOKHAVEN, NY – A 27-year-old man was arrested after he crashed his SUV and then tried to flee in Brookhaven early Monday, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, a Fifth Precinct police officer saw a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer traveling south on South Country Road at a high rate of speed at about 11:55 p.m. Sunday. When the officer attempted to pull over the Blazer, it crashed into a utility pole near the intersection of South Country Road and Trout Ponds Court, police said.
The driver of the Blazer, Kyle Milken, then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee the scene on foot, police said. Officers apprehended Milken, who was not injured in the crash, moments later.

Milken, of Patchogue, was arrested and charged with DWI. He was also issued citations for unsafe speed, leaving the scene of an accident and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Milken was held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Monday.
