Motorcycle Duo Charged In Suffolk Bank Robberies: Police

The pair robbed Webster Bank in Patchogue and TD Bank in Lake Ronkonkoma; tried to rob Chase Bank in Yaphank, Suffolk cops say.

PATCHOGUE, NY — Two people have been charged in connection with two bank robberies, in Patchogue and Lake Ronkonkoma, in which the getaway vehicle was a motorcycle, Suffolk police said.

Joseph Hill, 40, and Stephanie Demola, 34, of Moriches, were charged with first-degree robbery for robbing Webster Bank on Sunrise Highway in Patchogue last Thursday at around 9 a.m. and second-degree robbery for robbing TD Bank on Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma, on July 10 at around 3 p.m.

They were also charged with second-degree attempted robbery for the attempted robbery of Chase Bank on Main Street in Yaphank, on July 10 at around 10 a.m.

Hill is being held at the 6th Precinct in Selden, and Demola at the 4th Precinct in Smithtown pending their arraignments in First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday.
