- Midnight on Main Street is Patchogue Village's popular New Year's Eve celebration. Last year, the event had to go virtual due to COVID-19 concerns, but 2021's party will once again take place on Main Street. The family-oriented event schedules Patchogue's New Year's ball ceremony from 7-9 p.m. on Dec. 31, on W. Main Street and West Avenue. (Patchogue Patch)
- The Hype Long Island, a street wear and sneaker shop, recently opened in Coram to deck out locals in clothing formerly not found this far east on Long Island. When they were kids, the store owners used to buy, sell, and trade sneakers but had to travel to New York City to find the styles of kicks and clothes they really liked. DayShawn Andrews, Yardley Bonhumme, Kristoff Galloway and Eric Lee used their own savings to build and open their store, which had a successful first day on its grand opening the day after Halloween this year. - Police say four people were injured in a four-vehicle crash in Copiague on Wednesday night.
According to police, the driver of an SUV hit a vehicle in front of him on Great Neck Road near Dixon Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. That crash caused a chain reaction, involving a total of four vehicles. In a video, the SUV can be seen off the road and slammed into a cement stoop outside a home. The SUV then burst into flames. (News12)

Adriana Ancilleri, a junior at Sachem High School East in Farmingville, recently completed the Healthy Hearts for Happy Kids trail on a fitness track at the Holtsville Wildlife & Ecology Center. Her efforts included installing signs for eight physical activities. (Newsday)
- As part of their mission to strengthen communities by providing quality, affordable homes for deserving families in Suffolk County, the Town of Southampton Housing Authority and Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk are working jointly to build five houses in Riverside in the Town of Southampton.
