Patchogue Man's Pixies Kickstarter Exceeds Goal
Around $234k raised to support creation of a hardcover visual history of the band.

Sean T. Rayburn of Patchogue will get to make and publish his visual history hardcover of the band, The Pixies, after raising $234,450 from fans on crowdfunding website Kickstarter.
Rayburn needed to meet a minimum funding goal of $150,000 in order to keep the donated funds and produce the project. According to updates on the page, that minimum goal was met on May 31, and so by the time the Kickstarter finished Thursday he was well above the goal.
As previously reported Rayburn, whose fansite Pixiesmusic.com has since become the band’s official website and works on their Facebook Page, says on his Kickstarter page that there has been a large response to “vintage” photos of the band on Facebook, which led him into the idea of making a hardcover, coffee table sized book of the photos. Additionally, Rayburn said he would want to reach out to the original photographers that worked with the band in the 1980s and 1990s to revisit their work with the band, and make it available for the first time in the hardcover.
Rayburn said on his Kickstarter page that backers should expect the book in November.
