- LI Crafters Are Emerging At A Rapid Pace These Days. Many credit the pandemic for bringing extra downtime for them to rediscover their crafting hobbies. Di Rico, a graphic designer, spends a few hours a week at beaches handpicking materials for her projects, from sea glass and pottery and oyster shells to rocks, pebbles and driftwood. Her main creations are framed sea glass and decorated oyster shells. Di Rico has also added ornaments, coastal garlands and wine bottle charms, all featuring shells, to her offerings. - Thanksgiving Dinner Will Cost You Up to 5% More This Year. If you are planning to have all the trimmings for your Thanksgiving feast, you may want to rethink your meal plan. The American Farm Bureau Federation says this holiday will be the most expensive yet as prices increase. If you want to save money, experts offer this advice: Shop early and stock up on what you need. (News12)
- Patchogue 2021 Santa Parade. This year we are taking a trip into the world of Dr. Seuss for a Who-Ville inspired holiday. The festivities will kick-off on the corner of West Main Street and West Avenue on Nov. 27 at 6 p.m. Remember to dress for the weather and bring your letters to the North Pole. (Patchogue Village)
- Teens Injured in Ronkonkoma Dirt Bike Crash. Two teens were injured in a dirt bike crash in Ronkonkoma Sunday afternoon, Suffolk County police said, with one airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries. A 13-year-old boy, from Huntington, was riding a dirt bike in Ronkonkoma, when he rode his bike over a ramp and his rear tire hit an 18-year-old male, from Massapequa Park, in the face while he was picking up his own bike.
