2023 School Voters Guide: Pearl River
Voters in the Pearl River school district will be going to the polls Tuesday. Here's what you need to know.
PEARL RIVER, NY — Voters around Rockland County will be going to the polls Tuesday to approve their school district's budget, including the Pearl River district.
Also on the ballot are elections for school board members. Dr. Kathleen Ann Kelley is unopposed in her bid for re-election to the Pearl River Board of Education.
Voters in the district are being asked to approve a $85,038,794 spending plan for the 2023-24 fiscal year. That represents a budget increase of 9.7 percent and a 3.94 percent increase in the property tax levy. See: Proposed $85 Million Pearl River School Budget On The Ballot May 16

There are two other propositions on the ballot. Proposition 2 asks voters to approve the establishment of a Capital Reserve Fund for improvements and repairs at the schools. This fund could also be used to support future capital projects.

$14,350,000 capital bond for the Pearl River Public Library renewal project. The bond would be used to fund critically needed repairs to the HVAC systems in addition to the renovation of the entrance and checkout area, the Community Room and the Children’s Room.
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Pearl River High School, 275 East Central Ave.
