21-Year-Old Charged In Shooting Incident In Pearl River

He was arrested late Wednesday after an investigation by the Orangetown Police Department's detective bureau.

PEARL RIVER, NY — A 21-year-old from Virginia has been charged following an incident Saturday, Orangetown police said.

Police were called on a report of gunshots to West Central Avenue in Pearl River at 4:20 a.m. They recovered a firearm.

The Rockland County Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to process the scene and the Orangetown Police Department Detective Bureau began its investigation.

Late Wednesday afternoon, Orangetown police announced the arrest of Brandon I. Andino, of Norfolk, Virginia.

He faces charges of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class C felony, and prohibited use of a weapon, a Class A misdemeanor.

Andino was sent to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.

"The Orangetown Police Department would like to thank the public for their cooperation as well as the Rockland County Bureau of Criminal Investigation for their assistance at the scene," Capt. Michael Shannon said in the announcement.
