9/11 Ceremonies To Commemorate Terrorist Attacks Across Rockland
Orangetown's will take place at Veterans Park.

All around the Hudson Valley people will be taking the opportunity Monday to remember the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001. Flags on state government buildings will be flown at half-staff Sept. 11 in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 men, women and children who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks.
Among the local events, all taking place Monday:
- Clarkstown: Clarkstown 9/11 Ceremony, 5 p.m. at Clarkstown Town Hall.
- Nyack: Hometown Heroes Dedication, 6:30 p.m. in Memorial Park, 51 Piermont Ave.
- Piermont: Piermont Fire Department, 554 Piermont Ave. Members will report to the Firehouse by 8:15 a.m. in preparation for memorial tones to commemorate the attacks. The Scheffold family will hold a firemen’s mass at St. Johns Church, 895 Piermont Ave. at 19:30 for the department.
- Rockland County: As part of the annual commemoration at Haverstraw Bay County Park, 21 Gagan Road, family members will read the names of the Rockland County victims. There will be a tolling of the bell followed by a moment of silent prayer at 8:46 a.m. in remembrance of the attack on the North Tower of the World Trade Center, and again at 9:03 a.m. in memory of the attack on the South Tower.
- Hillcrest FD at Rt 306 Firehouse, 9 a.m.
- Stony Point Town Hall, 7 p.m.
- Spring Valley Village Hall, 11 a.m.
- Suffern Village Hall , 7 p.m.
- Ramapo Town Hall, 5:30 p.m.
- Haverstraw Town Hall, 6 p.m.
- Orangetown: Veterans Park in Orangeburg, 5 p.m.
