The Annual Rockland Autism Symposium
It is unanimously rated as one of the very best Symposiums on the subject and it's for everybody.
One of the best gifts that this County enjoys is the Annual Autism Symposium produced by the Venture Foundation that is generously financed by Inna and Josh Needelman of the Mindworks Charitable Trust, while there is normally a small administration fee when held-in-person, because this is a virtual event, there are no fees to participate. The Producer is Bill Schule, the Executive Director of the Venture Foundation. How to sign-in is below, but before you sign-in, please think, reflect, with an open mind about my words for a very few minutes.
One out of every fifty-four children in the USA are on the Autism Spectrum. That's a big number, a big percentage, so big that it is likely that you probably know someone on the Spectrum and maybe more if the adults are added.
When I first found my way, 50 years ago, into the lives of people old and young with mind/brain related maladies, Autism was not in the spotlight. It did not have the high profile or distinctions that it should have when compared to all the other maladies.

I lack the expertise to say much more than that. I am not a Scientist, Doctor of Medicine or Psychiatry or Psychology, not a Researcher, not an Educator. I am an observer/advocate of how we deal with the subject of people with mind/Brian maladies of every degree and nature.
One conclusion of my more than 50 years of observing for advocacy purposes is that it's more than very likely most people know/meet people on the Spectrum than most other differently diagnosed folks. Ergo, I think everyone should be educated about Autism.

That is just one of the glorious products/outcomes of this particular Symposium. Everyone can learn something. By everyone, I mean more than parents or school teachers or practicing Professional like Pyscholgists, Social Workers, potential employers, members of the Government at every level, relatives, neighbors, Law Enforcement, etc.
You can enjoy it in you own home or office at no cost. The folks that produce the event have been doing it for many years and know how to make the best possible use of time for everyone.
You have nothing to lose beyond a few hours and much to gain as a human being that cares about other less blessed than you probably are.
