Attempted Child Luring With Promise of Baseball Cards: Police
The Orangetown PD is looking for a suspect who is believed to have approached a Pearl River 10-year-old in front of his house.
PEARL RIVER, NY — Police are looking for a man who attempted to entice a child to his car with the promise of baseball cards and baseball tickets.
Investigators are treating the report as a "suspicious incident." Shortly before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, a child was in the driveway of his family's Pearl River home near Dexter Avenue when he was approached by a stranger in a car, police report. The 10-year-old told officers that the man asked if he wanted any baseball cards or baseball tickets.
The child immediately ran into his home and told his parents who called police.

The driver of the car is described as a white male in his sixties. The vehicle involved in the incident was a black car with a grey front grill and orange New York license plates.
