Back To School: South Orangetown 2023-24 School Calendar

ORANGETOWN, NY — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Orangetown, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in the South Orangetown schools.

The first day of school for students is Sept. 5.

Here is a list of dates to know for this school year:

25 - Yom Kippur

9 - Columbus Day

November

3 - Half day, Superintendent Conference Day, secondary school parent-teacher conferences

7 - Election Day

10 - Veterans Day

22 - Half day

23-24 - Thanksgiving Recess

December

8 - Half day, Superintendent Conference Day, elementary parent-teacher conferences

22 - Half day

25-29 - Holiday Recess

January

1 - New Years Day

2 - Schools Reopen

15 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day

February

19-23 - Presidents Day Winter Recess

March

15 - half day Superintendent's Conference Day

28-29 - Spring Recess I

April

1-5 - Spring Recess I continued

22-24 - Spring Recess II

May

24 - Half day Superintendent Conference Day

27 - Memorial Day

19 - Juneteenth

26 - Tappan Zee High School graduation, last day for Students

UNUSED SNOW DAYS

• If no days are used April 25 & 26 and May 28 will be vacation days
• If 1 day is used April 25 & 26 will be vacation days (May 28 school will be in session)
• If 2 days are used April 25 will be a vacation day (April 26 & May 28 school will be in session)
