Balmy To Below-Average Temperatures: Hudson Valley Work Week

LONG ISLAND, NY — As the region dries out, temperatures will drop briefly — but balmy weather returns by week's end.

In fact, conditions during the first half of the week will swing near to slightly below the historical average in the Northeast, said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.

"Tuesday reaches 40°F. Wednesday only peaks in the upper 30s and Thursday peaks in the mid 30s. Our cold period, this week," Bruce Furbeck of First Due Weather said on Facebook.

Even in southern Westchester, lows will be in the 20s overnight Wednesday.

"A few flurries, even a snow shower ... can't be ruled out as we go through the week, but nothing that should impact our day to day activities," Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather said on Facebook.

By Friday, temperatures start rising again.
