Compassion For Patients: Pearl River Local Hero

PEARL RIVER, NY — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Pattiann Peneno who nominated Kristin Candelario of Pearl River. The proud mom extolls her daughter's work as a nurse.

Reason for recognition: Kristin is an RN at WMC and worked her 12 hour shifts, plus extra hours when she was needed. She put the needs of others before her own and fought through the battle with empathy and compassion to the patients that could not have their families with them.

One thing to know: That she is an amazing Nurse and person with a lot of integrity.
