Robert Davis couldn't resist the opportunity to banged the gavel to open the Pearl River School District reorganization meeting Tuesday at the district administration building.
"It's the last time I get to do that," said Davis, who was the school board president for the 2012-13 school year.
The Pearl River Board of Education voted Jackie Curtiss as president and Tom DePrisco as vice president for a one-year terms from Tuesday night through June 30, 2014.
Curtiss, who was the board's vice president for 2012-13, will be serving her first term as president.
It is also the first term as vice president for DePrisco, who was voted onto the board in 2008.
The members of the school board choose the president and vice president each year. Curtiss had been vice president for the first time for 2012-13.
Davis and Michael Clohessy, who were both re-elected to the Pearl River Board of Education in May, were both sworn in to start new three-year terms.
