Ecuadoran Fugitive Arrested In Spring Valley: ICE

He is being held pending removal proceedings, officials said.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — An Ecuadorian fugitive in Spring Valley, whom U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations said is wanted for rape in Ecuador, is in ICE custody.

Renato Tejada-Alvarez, 35, entered the United States on March 4, 2021 as a non-immigrant and violated his terms of admission, ERO officials said.

Officers from the ERO Fugitive Operations sub-office in Newburgh arrested him in Spring Valley on Dec. 1. He is being held pending removal proceedings, officials said.

"Our Fugitive Operations Team is to be commended for their work in tracking and arresting this dangerous individual," said ERO New York Acting Field Office Director Kenneth Genalo. "Community safety is ICE’s priority, and this is one more step toward that end."
