Firefighters Extricate 5-Year-Old From Rockland County Crash
Police are asking witnesses to call them if they can provide information.
ORANGEBURG, NY — A 5-year-old child had to be extricated from a two-car collision in Rockland County Thursday.
The Orangetown Police Department said, shortly before 4:47 p.m. Thursday there was a crash at the intersection of W. Orangeburg Road and Lester Drive in Orangeburg.
Authorities said a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Kevin Greenwood of Garnerville, ws going east on W. Orangeburg Road when it struck a 2017 Subaru Impreza, driving by Dana Barschdorf of Orangeburg.

Barschdorf was trying to make a left turn from W. Orangeburg Road onto Lester Drive at the time of the collision, according to police.
The Orangeburg and Tappan fire departments responded to the scene to extricate a 5-year-old boy who was pinned in the rear passenger compartment of the Subaru.

He was taken to Westchester Medical Center in stable condition.
The South Orangetown Ambulance Corps and Rockland County Paramedics also responded.
The Orangetown Police Department Accident Investigation Team is conducting the investigation.
