Pauline Henriques of West Nyack writes on GoFundMe that her son Joshua has been begging to attend a military academy for the past two years. After visiting three different academies he has set his sights on Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, VA with the ultimate goal to attend West Point.
Henriques writes the only way he is going is with some sort of financial assistance. So far Joshua has received donations of $2,533 toward his $20,000 goal.
The seventh grader explains how attending a military academy will enable him to realize his dream of becoming an Army officer, “It is my dream to go to a military academy so I can get better grades, discipline and get into West Point."
