Orangetown Police Probe Report Of NJ Man Urinating On Ex-Wife's Grave

Family members concerned about bags of feces found on the grave had put up a surveillance camera, they told News 12.

TAPPAN, NY — Orangetown police are investigating a complaint that a 68-year-old man from Bergenfield, New Jersey urinated on a grave at Tappan Cemetery at 5:15 a.m. Sept. 18.

On that same date a charge was filed by the Orangetown Police Department with the Orangetown Justice Court, Orangetown Police Capt. James Acheson said in a news release.

Police said they identified the man with the help of the complainant but would not comment further due to the ongoing investigation.

According to News 12 Hudson Valley, a family has accused the man of desecrating the grave of their mother, a woman to whom he had been married a short time more than 40 years ago. After finding bags of feces on the grave, the family got permission to put up a video camera. They caught the man on video coming to the cemetery four times and urinating on the grave while his current wife waited in the car, then watched and taped him a fifth time, they told News 12.
