Orangetown to Vote on Reappointing Tax Assessor, Discuss Future of Broadacres

The Orangetown Council will hold its regular board meeting a day early, 7:30 p.m. Monday at Orangetown Town Hall, due to the primary elections Tuesday.

The council is expected to vote on the reappointment of Brian Kenney for another six-year term as Orangetown Tax Receiver at an annual salary of $111,787. The item had been pushed back from previous meetings.

The full agenda for Monday's meeting can be found here. It includes a number of items that have been part of board discussions in recent weeks, including salary adjustments for non-elected town employees who were not included in the recent agreement with the CSEA. They will receive the same increases for 2013 and 2014 as those included in the CSEA agreement.

The council is also expected to provide an update on its efforts to find private management to take over Broadacres Golf Course in Orangeburg. Members of the town council met with at least one potential manager last week.
