Orangetown Town Board to Address Blue Hill Golf Restaurant License, Fee Schedule

The Orangetown Town Board will also approve committee appointments for 2011 at its meeting 7:30 p.m. tonight.

The Orangetown Town Board will begin tonight's regular meeting tonight by considering terminating Back Nine, LLC's license to operate the restaurant at Blue Hill Golf Course.

According to the meeting agenda, Back Nine owes $59,750 in license fees and did not address the problem after being sent written notice over 30 days ago.

The board will also vote on the permit rates and greens fees for Orangetown's two golf courses --Blue Hill Golf Course and Broadacres Golf Club -- as well as other parks and recreation fees. The fees to play at the two golf courses were a source of discussion at last week's workshop as the board tries to balance bringing in as much money as possible with avoiding chasing away potential players.

Also on the agenda are the appointments and re-appointments of various town boards and committees, including the addition of two Tappan Zee students, Caroline Russo and Devona Paul, to the Substance Abuse Committee.

The board also discussed the need for a new local law that would allow for better enforcement of parking tickets and other infractions, but the agenda includes vote to rescind the resolution that would have scheduled a public hearing on the matter.
