Parking, Road Closures In Pearl River For St. Patrick's Parade

Orangetown police remind parade-goers and local drivers of the changes coming up Sunday.

PEARL RIVER, NY — The 2024 Rockland County Ancient Order of Hibernians St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Sunday, and Orangetown police remind everyone about the parking rules and road closures.

The parade will step off at 1:30 p.m. from the south entrance / exit of the Pfizer parking lot. Marchers will turn east onto East Crooked Hill Road, then south onto North Middletown Road, west onto East Central Avenue, south onto South Main Street and end after the turn onto South Main Street.

Roads in the area of the parade route will be closed and locked down at noon. Also, spectators and motorists should also be aware that roadways around the parade route may remain closed up to an hour or more after the parade concludes.

Please keep this in mind if you plan on traveling to the Pearl River area that day, Orangetown police said.

On street parking is available in the Pearl River area, but please check for any full time or temporary parking restrictions for that roadway prior to leaving your vehicle.

Please ensure that your parked vehicle does not impede traffic. Any parked vehicles that are found to impede emergency response or endanger public safety are subject to be ticketed and towed. Please ensure that you park properly and legally.

Parking rules will be enforced.

Handicapped parking will be available in the Parking Lot of the Key Bank at 93 North Middletown Road and the Municipal Parking Lot at the corner of North William Street and East Washington Avenue.

Police also remind parade-goers that Town of Orangetown Town Code Local Law No. 2 Chapter 10 states: “Open bottles or containers in which there is an alcoholic beverage is prohibited by law”.

All scheduled TOR bus service will be diverted after 12:00 p.m. The 92 Eastbound (Palisades Mall) will bypass downtown Pearl River by traveling south on Route 304 from West Washington Avenue into Montvale and then resuming service in the area of Gilbert Avenue at Veterans Memorial Drive.

The 92 Westbound (SVTC) will bypass downtown Pearl River in the area of Gilbert Avenue at Veterans Memorial Drive into Montvale and will resume service on Route 304 in the area of West Washington Avenue.

TOR Bus patrons should be advised that the only locations to catch the bus in the Pearl River area during the diversion will be at the normal bus stops on West Washington Avenue and on Veterans Memorial Drive.
