
Pearl River senior Brian Cook finished first overall to lead the Pirates' boys cross country team to tri-meet victories over Tappan Zee and Albertus Magnus Tuesday at Pearl River Middle School.
Cook finished the three-mile course in 15:58, 38 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Luke Gavigan of Tappan Zee. Pearl River took third (Ben McDermott), fourth (Mike Mahoney) and sixth (Brandon Ilie) to pull out a 25-31 victory over Tappan Zee, the defending section champions. Liam Burke finished fifth overall for the Dutchmen.
Both teams beat Albertus Magnus, 15-50.
