Pearl River High School Grad's Story About Teacher Published

Alison Dyer's story about former Franklin Avenue Elementary School teacher Diane Meyerer was included in "Chicken Soup for the Soul: Raising Kids on the Spectrum," a book which was released today.

Alison Dyer first published "Thank You, Diane" as a blog entry on the Autism Speaks website April 11, 2012. 

In it, the 2005 Pearl River High School graduate wrote about the impact Diane Meyerer had not only on the life of her her autistic brother, but on the entire Dyer family.

The Dyer's shared the story on Patch April 20, the day after Meyerer passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Dyer's story about Meyerer was picked up as part of a new book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Raising Kids on the Spectrum, which was released today. The book is a collection of 101 stories for parents with autism. The release coinsides with World Autism Awareness Day. For more information, go to www.chickensoup.com
