Pearl River Seeded No. 4 in Section Softball

No. 4 seed Pearl River will open the Section 1 Class A softball playoffs at home Friday against the winner of Thursday's preliminary-round game between No. 20 Somers and No. 13 Rye.

If the Pirates win, they would play May 28 at home against either No. 12 Nyack or No. 5 Brewster. 

Eastchester, currently ranked No. 2 in the state by the New York State Sportswriter's Association, got the top seed in Class A. Ursuline, No. 1 in the state rankings, is the No. 2 seed in the section tournament. Tappan Zee is the No. 3 seed and will play at home Friday against the winner of a preliminary round game between Byram Hills and Albertus Magnus.
