The Pearl River cross country teams both opened league play with victories over Tappan Zee in tri-meets at Pearl River Middle School Tuesday.
The Pearl River boys defeated Tappan Zee, 25-31, and Albertus Magnus, 15-50, Tuesday. Senior Brian Cook finished first overall for the Pirates in 15:58. For more about the Pirates, check out this team preview that ran Tuesday.
In the girls meet, Pearl River defeated Tappan Zee, 23-35, and Albertus Magnus, 15-49. Pearl River senior Kelly Hayes finished first overall with a time of 18:42.3.
