Pearl River High School's team of 10th graders finished 11th in the nation in this year's WordWright Challenge, which tests their ability to read closely and analyze a variety of poetry and prose.
Sophomore Noelle Anselmi also won highest honors for earning a place among the top 17 10th graders in the national cumulative standings for the year. Anselmi and another sophomore, Christine O'Toole, both earned perfect scores during the final meet of the year in April. Freshman Matthew Ding earned a near-perfect score in that competition.
