Pearl River Volleyball Defeats Tappan Zee

Pearl River defeated Tappan Zee, 3-1, at home to improve to 3-4 on the season.

Senior Annette Krysiewicz led the Pirates with four blocks to go with seven kills and four aces. As a team, Pearl River had 17 aces, led by six by Marissa Verdicchio.

Senior Victoria Grix had five kills and 17 assists and Toni Glielmi came through with a team-high eight kills.

Meghan Smith led Tappan Zee with 11 kills. Taylor Sheridan contributed eight kills and Amanda Carroll had a team-high 15 digs.

The Pirates won by scores of 25-23, 25-21, 24-26, 25-8.

Pearl River's next match is 4 p.m. Friday at Albertus Magnus.
