Pearl River's Cook, Hayes, Moroney Advance to State Track Meet

Pearl River's Brian Cook broke his own school record with a time of 9:18.01 in the 3000-meter Steeplechase Friday at White Plains, earning himself a trip to the state track and field championships June 7 and 8 at Middletown High School.

Two Pirates qualified for states on the girls side at the two-day qualifier, which held events Thursday at Arlington and Friday at White Plains. Kelly Hayes earned her trip in the 3000 Thursday and in the 1500 Friday and teammate Amanda Moroney will go to states in the 110 high hurdles.
