Pearl River's Cook Runs Fourth in Steeplechase at Nationals

Pearl River junior Brian Cook finished fourth in the 2,000-meter steeplechase at the New Balance Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at NC A&T Irwin Belk Track in Greensboro, NC. 

Cook ran the race in 5:56.49, good enough for third in the seeded race, but Bailey Roth of Colorado Springs ran a 5:49.24 in the unseeded race for the overall victory.

Another Pearl River junior, Kelly Hayes, finished 16th overall in the girls 2,000 steeplechase Friday in a time of 7:18.56.
